David Beckham lands in Rio de Janeiro for carnival – and peek inside his stylish hotel on Ipanema Beach

David Beckham arrived at the home of this year’s World Cup to join the biggest party in Brazil – the annual Carnival.
The sports ambassador is said to be gearing up to star in the final weekend of Rio’s carnival, riding a float as the winning samba schools from this week’s rallies travel through the city’s famous Sambadrome.
With Brazil hosting the World Cup in June and July, it’s no surprise that Beckham is in town for the country’s most important annual event.
And with the football legend reportedly staying at Hotel Fasano on Ipanema Beach – the city’s most stylish address – MailOnline Travel takes a peek inside the city’s best designer hotel.
Ipanema, one of Rio’s most elegant districts, is filled with golden sands and filled with trendy boutiques.
Every summer weekend, the city’s lovely residents descend on its sand en masse and the celebrities who visit the well-located city choose Fasano as their base, just steps from its center.
The interior was created by French interior designer Philippe Starck, with wood, crumb and marble giving the entire hotel an elegant finish.
The 92 rooms either have a courtyard overlooking the ocean, and it is believed that Beckham would most likely stay in one of the 10 suites that boast sweeping views of the coast, with green mountains as well as miles of beaches bordering the city.
For even better views of the ‘wonderful city’, Beckham can head to the rooftop infinity pool for a swim before heading to a private area at Ipanema Beach exclusively for hotel guests.

The carnival is one of the most popular times to visit Rio, and the party started in style last weekend, when the top 12 samba schools went head-to-head in a competition that spanned two nights and featured feathers, sequins, and lots of more top costumes.
The three winners will go to the Sambadrome again to close out the event, which time Beckham is expected to participate.

Tranquility: The beach is just steps away from the hotel, but for even more exclusivity, Beckham can grab a lounge chair by the infinity-edge pool.
He will be one of the 920,000 international tourists who have traveled to Rio this year to experience the carnival.
According to Rio de Janeiro’s Tourism Board, the carnival will generate around R$2.2 billion (£570m), of which R$1.7 billion (£450m) is solely related to tourism indicating a 10 per cent increase over the year. Past.
